Discourses on the Ten Commandments, the Law and Sin, and the Way of Salvation following the order of the Westminster Shorter Catechism
A Second Part of A Body of Practical Divinity.
By Thomas Watson

Topic-by-topic discourses on the doctrines of the Westminster Shorter Catechism. Discourses and sermons from Thomas Watson provide English Puritan preaching in a familiar way, full of the doctrinal purity and excellence of the Reformed Faith. Often these discourses provide additional Question and Answer sections on interesting and important topics of Bible-Christianity. Just a few of the main topics of the discourses include:
We live in times when not only the moral principles of society, but the moral principles of the Church have eroded. While we can speak of things which are "right" and "wrong," our generation is largely unaware of much of the "right" and "wrong" which is directly before us in the Bible, because we are accustomed to a new trimmed-down morality, surrounding us on every side. If you have never made the effort before, it is essential for you to read a Puritan explanation of each of the Ten Commandments. In this process, your Biblical convictions of right and wrong will be mightily enforced, and at the same time, you will learn to embrace principles of morality that previously seemed too old-fashioned, too legalistic, or too impractical, because you will find them so supported from Holy Scripture that it would be too stubborn, too rebellious, and too unprincipled to do otherwise.
Thomas Watson of Stephens Walbrook in London was a Covenanter minister during the Second Reformation era. He signed the 1647 Testimony to the Truth of Jesus Christ, and to our Solemn League and Covenant; as also Against the Errours, Heresies, and Blasphemies of these times, and the Toleration of them. Readers will generally find the writings of Watson full of pertinent truth, packaged in a way to make it memorable.
